Lieutenant Christopher Linzey
Lieutenant Chris Linzey, a native of Southern California, graduated
from Vanguard University of Southern California in 2001 with a
Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He earned a Master of Arts in
Biblical Studies from Vanguard University in 2008 and a Master of
Divinity in 2010 from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He
commissioned as an Army Chaplain Candidate in 2009 and
superceded as an Army Reserve Chaplain in 2010. In 2015 he did
an inter-service transfer and became an Active Duty Navy
Chaplain. He is an ordained minister with Calvary Christian
Fellowship and endorsed for the chaplaincy by the Coalition of
Spirit-Filled Churches.
Linzey’s Army Reserve tours include the 317th MP BN, the 384th MP BN, and the 159th MP
BN (Criminal Investigation Division).
His operational tours include USS FORT MCHENRY (LSD-43) deploying in 2018-2019 with
the KEARSARGE ARG and the 22nd MEU in support of 5th Fleet operations and BALTOPS,
and 2D Battalion, 8TH Marines (V28) deploying to the INDOPACOM region for UDP East
21.2. Linzey assumed duties as command chaplain at 2d Combat Engineer Battalion (2d CEB)
in May of 2022, deploying to Norway and Sweden in support of Marine Rotational Force –
Europe 23.1.
His shore tours include NAVAL AIR STATION MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI, serving as the
installation chaplain for the command and all tenant commands, and since June 2023 he has
been the command chaplain for the Marine Corps Engineer School at Camp Lejeune, NC.
Linzey’s personal awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement
Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and
Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (three awards), and
the Arctic Service Ribbon. He is a Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer and is trained and
certified by the Navy as a Command Financial Specialist and Command Fitness Leader.
Chaplain Linzey is married to his wife of 22 years, Tené M. Williams-Linzey. He and his wife
have three beautiful children: Annalise (17), Paul (15), and Christienne (12). He loves movies
(if it’s on a screen he’ll watch it), music (he plays piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums), and,
win or lose, is a die-hard Raiders fan.
